How We Do Sport in Yakutia, Siberia | Summer Vlog 🤼♂️🏃♀️🌻🌄
When most people think of Yakutia, the first thing that comes to mind is the cold ❄️. But there’s so much more here than just freezing winters. Every four years, the biggest sporting event of Yakutia takes place — the Manchaary Games, also known as the Sakha Olympics. Athletes from all across Yakutia gather to compete in unique traditional sports like mas-wrestling, hapsagai (Sakha wrestling), archery with animal-shaped targets, and jumping games inspired by old hunting skills. 🏹💪
This year I got to experience the Games for the very first time, and it was unforgettable. The competitions, the cheering crowds, concerts, markets, and of course delicious local food — the atmosphere was incredible. 🎉 In this video, I’ll take you with me to feel the energy and traditions of the Sakha Olympics. 🌍✨
