When Kelly was just seven, her 16-year-old babysitter, Suzanne Capper, was kidnapped and tortured for six days by McNeilly and five others. Suzanne was found badly burned by the roadside and later died in hospital.
Kelly reflects on the horror of Suzanne’s murder and the lasting impact of growing up surrounded by violence. She also reveals how her mother continued to have control over her life as her legal guardian, despite serving a prison sentence for murder.
Now, Kelly bravely shares how she rebuilt her life, with the support of her foster family, finding love and her journey to motherhood.
