It's certainly early, but your feedback is much appreciated! I'll show you where the inspiration for the creature came from, how I modelled the monster in Blender (on a live stream), and setup basic locomotion in Unity using procedural animation by combining the Animation Rigging package with procedural movement tips provided by @Codeer! I encourage you to check out @Codeer's video, it's only one minute long and a fantastic reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6Gjhr1IP6w Even aside from the new monster it was a great month working on Farewell North, and I've got all your feedback to thank for it! I've been trying to incorporate a lot of your comments and suggestions into the game, and it's certainly helping. I made three major improvements to the game this month based on your suggestions. First, I reworked the way that the hidden object perspective puzzles function by shattering the hidden object and scattering the pieces in such a way that they reform the object when viewed from the correct perspective. This makes it much easier for the player to understand what the solution is and how to progress. Next I worked on some animation improvements, and made a change to my animation workflow by adding in a Unity plugin called UMotion. So far I'm really liking it, and it helped me make some modest improvements to the canoeing animations. I also fixed a long standing bug in the dogs movement so it should be much more smooth going forward. I also built a tool into Unity to generate the localization credits by pulling data automatically from Localizor, the tool we're using to translate the game. The community is working on about 20 different languages, so I want to make sure they all get the credit they deserve. I hope you enjoy the video, and please leave your thoughts down below. Don't forget to like, subscribe and of course, wishlist the game on Steam! You play as a collie working alongside your human companion to explore, solve puzzles, evade monsters, and restore color to the islands. #devlog #gaming #videogames #indiedev #indiegame #gamedev #unity #unity3d #madewithunity #steam #steamgame #journey #blender
