A Brand New Mechanic, HUGE Graphics Improvements, and More! | Farewell North - Indie Devlog #9

You all gave so much feedback here on YouTube and over on Discord, and I've been hard at work incorporating a lot of it. I've also got a brand new feature to share with you, so be sure to stick around for that! This video will go over some big graphical improvements I've made, including shader updates for how color is blended between the colored and uncolored world, and a new inkblot (or Rorschach image) effect I've introduced to the skybox of the uncolored world, all developed in Unity3D! I'll show you the new pause menu, which came as a suggestion from Gunschlinger on the Farewell North Discord server, which uses a timescale effect and camera pan to really create something unique. In keeping with the Scottish roots of the game, the ocean sprites have been reworked to be combined with the Will o the Wisps to give a more consistent experience on land and sea. Finally I'll show you a brand new feature to the game that I believe really steps up the gameplay and level design possibilities of the game, so make sure to stick around for that!
