Trapped in Venezuela’s Deadliest Prison: The Joshua Holt Story

In 2016, American missionary Joshua Holt traveled to Venezuela, only to find himself trapped inside El Helicoide: one of the most infamous detention centers in Latin America. He and his wife Thamy endured terrible conditions, physical abuse, and years of uncertainty... until everything changed on one fateful day. This episode of How to Survive examines the geopolitical events, psychological endurance, and backchannel negotiations required to survive 695 days in captivity and return home. We'd like to give a big thanks to our special guest, Dr. Antulio Rosales for sharing his wisdom with us. https://discover.academics.yorku.ca/Antulio.Rosales To learn more about Josh and Thamy's story, check out the excellent podcast series Hope In Darkness: https://www.youtube.com/@UCv_uWTAGlRn2SbRlSLfL6MA Educational & Documentary Disclaimer: This video is a historical documentary intended for educational and informational purposes.
