The Genius Plan to Change Amsterdam

Maps are provided by the wonderful Maptiler, and the overlays come from the Amsterdam map website, where the government provides really nice data. This is a video on Amsterdam's Omgevingsvisie 2050. Dutch municipalities in the Netherlands pass omgevingsvisie as guiding documents, not binding, but it gives a good indication of where a city would like to head over the next couple of decades. For Amsterdam it seems like it’s rigorous greenification, increased mobility, growth within constraints, etc. Basically the entire video is based on a few documents: One, the omgevingsvisie: https://amsterdam2050.nl/ Two, the history of green wedges: https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/green-wedge-urbanism/9200000122164386/?bltgh=ifKzPmTVg8wU3DrngIFFaw.2_6.9.ProductTitle Three, Amsterdam's Overall Extension: https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/de-nieuwe-grachtengordel/9200000072712145/?suggestionType=featured_product Four, a bunch of Parool articles: https://www.parool.nl/amsterdam/3-bruggen-een-voetgangerstunnel-en-nieuwe-ponten-zo-moet-amsterdam-groei-opvangen~b1e8f0aa/?utm_source=link&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=shared_earned https://www.parool.nl/gs-bd5aa29a https://www.parool.nl/ps/de-groene-ambities-van-wethouder-marieke-van-doorninck-ik-wil-dat-de-bestaande-ruimte-intensiever-wordt-gebruikt~bf7f5c65/?utm_source=link&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=shared_earned https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2021/03/12/hoe-ziet-amsterdam-er-over-dertig-jaar-uit-a4035020 https://www.parool.nl/gs-bd1f81bee Music: The one and only wonderful Chris Zabriskie Songs (in order): Artist: Chris Zabriskie Song: Out of the Skies, Under the Earth License: Creative Commons 3.0 Link: https://chriszabriskie.bandcamp.com/album/reappear Artist: Chris Zabriskie Song: Readers!
