Unreal has a powerful AI feature called the Environment Query System (EQS) that lets agents intelligently evaluate the world and choose optimal positions for attack, cover, or patrol — but Unity doesn’t have anything like it built in. In this video, we recreate EQS from scratch inside Unity 6, building a fully asset-driven system with generators, tests, scoring, and runtime execution, so our AI can dynamically reason about space instead of relying on hardcoded behavior.
