before and after of my second renovation 🏡 #homedecor #interiordesign #renovation

People seemed to like my abandoned tiny house renovation, so let me show you the second renovation that I recently finished. So to start, here is what the living room and kitchen looked like when I first bought this place. I think the main problem with this room was that it was so dark I couldn’t see the end of my nose. To sort all of these grievances, I had the roof raised by about a metre, added three new Velux windows so that this room could finally be blessed with some natural light, then had a new kitchen and some hardwood flooring fitted before painting this feature wall a green which blends in nicely with the colours outside. Next up on the grievance list was the bathroom. I just wasn’t able to enjoy singing in this shower, so it really needed an upgrade. To achieve this upgrade, I had the bathroom fitted out with brushed brass fixings, splashes of terrazzo tile, and oak effect panelling which also acts as a hidden cupboard. Moving into the back of the house, we have two bedrooms, and this is what the first one was like. Looks wise, the two bedrooms weren't anything terrible, but before renovating them, both rooms were insulated with polystyrene meaning it was freezing and the flooring was paper thin which meant my downstairs neighbour could hear me stomping around. So, beyond the obvious aesthetic makeovers at this end of the house, a lot of work also went into making these rooms thermally and acoustically optimal. I know it’s not something that translates over video, but the rooms just feel so much nicer now. This is what the second bedroom looked like before, and my main problem with this room was the massive wardrobe so I destroyed it and made up for the lost storage by turning the old doorways, windows and fireplaces that we discovered behind the walls in this room into handy pockets of recessed storage.
