The Last of Us 2 has created a lot of heated debates and reactions targeted at its creator Neil Druckmann which leads us to the question: are we becoming too protective of works of art that we love and follow for years? in recent years fans started to make their disagreements with the creators clearer and clearer when a movie like Star Wars, a tv-show like Game of Thrones or a video game like The Last of Us Part 2, goes in a direction they don't approve of. Fan backlash and reactions are slowly becoming the new norm whenever fans disagree with creators. Does the fan backlash stifle creativity in these mediums? does it make creators less daring in exploring new directions for established franchises like The Last of Us, Star Wars, or Game of Thrones? on the other hand, isn't it misleading to ask the fans to put their faith in a direction set clearly by the creators, only for them to discover that they were misled? and is that the case with The Last of Us 2 and is that even Neil Druckmann's message? We focus in this video on The Last of Us 2 more than the other examples because we think the issue has reached a peak there. There is the fans' side to the game and its ending and then there is Niel Druckmann's side. We try to explore the issue and give our honest opinion at the end of the video.
