The Tomb of King Tongmyong, located near Pyongyang, is traditionally believed to be the burial site of Tongmyong, the founder of the Koguryo Kingdom. First established in 277 BC, Koguryo grew into one of the most powerful states in Northeast Asia and remains an important part of Korean history.
