Score Video for 'Turandot: Christopher Tin Finale'

Writing a new completion of Puccini's "Turandot" was one of the most daunting and challenging things I've ever done. Note-for-note, I spent more time writing this piece than anything else I've written by far. To give a little inside look into how we created the ending, I made an incredibly detailed score video: all 18 minutes of the complete ending, filled with notes about the key creative choices we made: from my librettist Susan Soon He Stanton's new plot twists, to my own approach to the music: combining Puccini's leftover sketches with key quotations from the completed portions of the opera, alongside my own new melodies (many of which were built from inverted fragments of Puccini's themes).
