Dance with Steel Ball Run - Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7 SBR: Main Theme [Piano]

The legendary Steel Ball Run race has finally begun! To highlight the most memorable sections of the soundtrack, I slightly restructured the piece, condensing the dramatic progression of a grueling transcontinental race into a single piano arrangement. ● 0:01 - A Fragile Beginning I wanted Johnny to be the narrative focus of this arrangement, so I added a new intro to reflect his initial struggle. It foreshadows the beginning of a harsh journey for the paralyzed protagonist to "turn his minus to zero," quietly uncovering the secret of the Spin to revive his life. ● 1:07 - The Latin Dance Is it just me, or is the Latin dance the most surprising moment of the soundtrack? It almost reminds me of Gyro Zeppeli's flamboyant energy cutting right through the grit and tension of the race. I liked it so much that I repeated it again later at 3:36 - although with a variation this time. ● 1:45 - An Unpredictable Path In the Steel Ball Run, competitors must navigate their own treacherous routes without fixed paths. I felt the exact same way while arranging the piano solo here. Improvising through this section felt just like trusting your instincts and carving out your own path to the finish line. ● 2:51 - A Heroic Tailwind My favorite moment of the arrangement. This is where I fully utilize my signature arrangement style to create a grand, symphonic sound. The main theme is reborn here, with the right-hand ornaments physically representing the new wind rushing in to drive the momentum. Overall, I had a lot of fun arranging this track because it combines the best of both worlds: jazz and classical orchestration. Seasoned jazz pianists might notice that the solo at 1:45 still sounds somewhat classical due to its symmetrical structure. I fully admit my bias toward classical music heavily influenced this section! With that said, I am already working on my next piano project. It's going to be a long soundtrack medley from a well known anime. See you next time again!
