The Great Meme Reset is an online campaign proposing that on 1 January 2026, the entire internet should “reset” memes back to the 2016 era — the so‑called golden age of dank, chaotic, pre‑brainrot meme culture. Think Big Chungus, Ugandan Knuckles, Rage Comics, Nyan Cat, and the whole early‑2010s energy. This idea is framed as a symbolic purge of low‑effort, AI‑generated, hyper‑niche “brainrot” memes that have dominated recent years.
LYRICS
The Great meme reset
There once was a time,
the better days of internet
where memes were sent by human clicks and
algorhythmic magic tricks
they lasted years and made a point
sometimes just fun and stupid things
until the age of brainrot pushed by
5 year olds and ad kachings
pepe, flexin, feels good man
pb jelly time my jam
keyboard cat on melody
rave crab snapping claws on beat
hamster, dancing, hypnotize
star wars kid, the true jedi
rick rollin, wont give you up
disaster girl was blowing up
lets start over
reset the internet
delete the brainrot culture
its the great meme reset
lets start over
reset the internet
delete the brainrot culture
its the great meme reset
the great meme reset
lets all band together,
and make good memes that resonate
like richard dawkins selfish gene
a meme is sposed to imitate
imortalised forever
to stand the test of time
this song might seem like catching trends
but read between the lines
grumpy, nyan, bongo cat
hello kitty look at that
doge coin - elon musk
to the moon with cyber truck
big chungas, so thicc
trollface he's sick
battlefield call of duty
faze clan, shooty shooty
